Research Buyer FAQ
Published August 21, 2026 · Artemis Labs
The Artemis Labs research-buyer FAQ answers the questions buyers ask before they order. Six sections cover Certificates of Analysis, purity and storage, choosing a supplier, what research peptides are, how compounds differ, and how ordering works. Every compound Artemis Labs sells is supplied for laboratory research use only.
How this page works. Each question is answered in the first sentence of its section. Where a longer guide already exists, the answer is short and the link goes to the guide. Facts about vendor closures and FDA letters come from the public record, and the sources are listed at the bottom of each page.
The six sections
Certificate of Analysis verification
A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is the lab report that comes with a batch of material. This section teaches a buyer to audit one — including ours. It covers what a real COA has to show, how a forged one gives itself away, what third-party testing means, and what a COA does not cover. Thirteen questions.
HPLC purity, net peptide content and shelf life
Every vendor prints a purity number. Few explain it. This section defines the words on the label: HPLC purity, net peptide content, measured milligrams, lyophilised powder, and shelf life in a sealed vial. Sixteen questions, and the best place to start if the numbers on a COA do not yet mean much to you.
Peptide supplier evaluation and the FDA enforcement record
Several large vendors closed between 2024 and 2026, and the FDA sent warning letters to eleven named sellers. This section is the dated record and the checklist that falls out of it: what to look for, what the common scams look like, and what happened to the vendors people still search for. Fifteen questions.
What research peptides are
Start here if the whole category is new. This section defines the class, not single compounds: what a peptide is, why the material ships as a dry powder, what the milligram figure on a vial refers to, what a blend is, and why nearly all of the published work is done in animals. Ten questions.
Compound-versus-compound comparisons
Nine short answers that each point to the full comparison. This section is a map, not the destination. It says in one paragraph how two compounds differ in class and structure, then sends you to the detailed page or to the two product pages. Nine questions.
Ordering, payment and USPS shipping
The practical section. Why one vendor’s price is half another’s, which payment methods Artemis Labs takes, why card payments are rare in this market, and how to track an order. Eleven questions.
The questions buyers ask most
These ten were the most repeated phrasings in an August 2026 review of live competitor pages. Each links to its full answer.
| Question | The short version | Full answer |
|---|---|---|
| How do I know if a peptide COA is real or fake? | Check the batch number, the date, the lab, and the traces — a forged COA usually fails on more than one. | Certificate of Analysis verification |
| What happened to Peptide Sciences? | It announced its closure on March 6, 2026 and stopped processing orders. | the Peptide Sciences shutdown |
| BPC-157 vs TB-500 — what is the difference? | Two different molecules from two different sources, studied on different pathways. | BPC-157 versus TB-500 |
| Do peptides need to be refrigerated? | A sealed, dry vial is stable cold and dark; long-term storage is a freezer question. | peptide storage and shelf life |
| Retatrutide vs tirzepatide — what is the difference? | Tirzepatide acts at two receptors. Retatrutide is built to act at three. | tirzepatide versus retatrutide |
| Are research peptides legal? | Research-use-only material is not an approved drug, and the FDA has acted when sites market it for people. | research-use-only status and FDA regulation |
| What does 99% purity actually mean? | It is an area figure from one chromatography run, not a statement about the whole powder. | what a 99% HPLC purity figure measures |
| How long do peptides last before they go bad? | Sealed and frozen, a dry peptide is a multi-year item; warm and damp, far less. | lyophilised peptide shelf life |
| What is a Certificate of Analysis for peptides? | The batch-specific lab report that says what the material is and how pure it is. | what a Certificate of Analysis is |
| What is the difference between purity and net peptide content? | Purity is about the peptide. Net peptide content is about the powder. | net peptide content versus label mg |
